A 17-year-old boy remains in serious condition following a car crash yesterday in south Vancouver.
Police say the Mercedes was travelling along Southwest Marine Drive at 3 a.m, when it crashed into a front yard at 57 Avenue.
It was almost an hour before someone discovered them and called for help.
The 18-year-old driver was treated for minor injuries and released this morning.
The 17-year-old passenger, meanwhile, is in intensive care with head trauma, facial fractures, brain swelling, fractured arm and possible eye damage.
“If you find yourself as a passenger in a car, the driver is driving in a manner that could result in this, you need to speak up, tell them to stop, let you out, or to change their driving behaviour, so that you’re not injured or possibly kiled.”
Police say it appears the driver was going more than twice the speed limit.
