BC’s top court has reduced the value of a settlement awarded to the Vancouver Canucks, over a sponsorship deal gone wrong.
The NHL team had sued office and camera equipment retailer Canon, for breach of contract.
The Canucks argued Canon backed out of the deal it valued at more than 1.7-million dollars.
Canon said the deal was worth closer to 700-thousand.
In May of 2013, a BC Supreme Court judge ordered Cannon to pay the Canucks 827-thousand dollars for breaking the deal.
But the BC Court of Appeal says that was too much.
It says Canon needs to pay almost 764-thousand dollars.
