Can somebody explain why Canucks goaltender Ryan Miller flew all the way to Winnipeg to skate with his teammates today and maybe tomorrow? He will watch the Canucks and Jets and the fly all the way back to Vancouver after the game.
It does not make sense. It cannot be the teams’ idea.
It sure as heck is not Eddie Lack’s best case scenario. He is starting all the games right now and then in the middle of a snowy Manitoba blizzard pops out the pasty skinned Miller yelling “Surprise” like Jack Nicholson in the shining.
Miller is three weeks into fatherhood ,so perhaps he jetted into the Peg for a decent night of sleep. It’s entirely feasible but not likely probable.
The six-million dollar keeper is there because he is worried about his job.
While waiting for his son to be born he has been hearing Eddie this and Lack that as his club is about to clinch a playoff spot.
We heard this week he was back on the ice. That is earlier than expected, especially by Farhan’s timeline.
Is Ryan threatened? Is he rushing back?
Miller made the call to go east. Just like it seems he has called the shots about when he is going to play this season. GM Jim and Coach DJ have not said no to him since he arrived.
Perhaps the American is hoping to get a start before the season ends, home to Arizona Thursday or the Oilers Saturday, or both. If he played, I’m pretty sure he would expect to start midway through the next week in game one of the playoffs.
As a fan or management, do you want a guy that has played one or two mean nothing games since February 22 to start in goal instead of a chap that has better save percentage this year and has a record of 10-5-2 since Miller went on the limp.
Can anybody say No to Ryan Miller?
It took awhile, but do you smell it?
We’ve been waiting all season, just in time for the playoffs.
Oh and it smells delicious, a good old fashioned Vancouver goalie controversy.
