The Vancouver Board of Education has filed a petition in BC Supreme Court seeking permission to tow vehicles interfering with it’s constuction of a new elementary school in False Creek.
The board needs to re-locate around 150 vehicles for six months while it performs structural and seismic upgrades for the foundation of the International Village elementary school.
But Manager of Planning, Kelly Isford-Saxon, says 22 Firenze Condo owners haven’t complied.
“I won’t say that they haven’t agreed, all that I am going to say is that they haven’t responded back.”
Fern Jeffries with the False Creek Residents Association insists neighbours are supportive.
“We are sorry its taken so long.”
The school was slated to open in December of this year.
Its been pushed back to January 2017.
