Voters are not rushing to mail back the transit and transportation plebiscite ballots.
According numbers out so far today from Elections BC, ballots have only been returned from Surrey and Vancouver, just over 63,000 of them.
That’s just 4.1% of the total ballots mailed out.
The voting period began March 16. Voters have until May 29 to mail back a ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ vote.
The ballot asks if you support a 0.5% increase in the sales tax to pay for transit and transportation projects, like a new Pattullo Bridge or a Broadway subway line in Vancouver.
