“Very shocked. Store always has a lineup outside of it, it’s always been busy.”
Well it’s official, another retail giant has shut its doors to Canadian shoppers.
While some Canadian Future Shops will be consolidating with Best Buy, others will be closing down entirely.
At least fifteen hundred jobs have been lost with the announcement of Future Shop shutting down in Canada.
Most employees were too distraught to talk after the shock.
While shopper Lucy Bordignon says it’s sad but NOT shocking.
“It seems overall over the years it seems like Americans have come up and invaded our whole retail market and there’s very few Canadian retail stores left.”
Bordignon says now is the time for Canadian’s to start thinking of new retail options.
“If Canadians have ideas of something new in retail they want to come up with, come up with it I will shop there.”
Those that are consolidating are expected to re-open Saturday April 4th. The Granville and Robson location being one of them.
