BC’s Attorney General is expecting a new pilot project, aimed at resolving the legal conflicts of parents, to free up more court time.
“We’re expecting that these innovation measures will actually significantly increase access to justice in British Columbia.”
Suzanne Anton says the newly-opened Parents Legal Centre in Vancouver will have an annual operating budget of two million dollars… for at least three years.
“The goal is that if we can reach out to parents early, if they are referred to the clinic early on, that can help them to resolve the issues, to find alternate arrangements if they need to, to help keep these cases out of courts and in fact, save time.”
The centre, located at Robson Square, will be run by the Legal Services Society.
