Smoke from BC’s wildfires is making its way to the coast.
The Ministry of Forests says winds are pushing high level drift smoke from large wildfires burning in this province’s interior to the mainland’s central coast and northern Vancouver Island.
The Wildfire Management Branch says concerned residents called in reports of heavy smoke yesterday.
While the smoke could clear up overnight, it is expected to reform tomorrow, and could stick around for several days.
Anyone with pre-existing health conditions, or who is worried about the air quality should contact their local health authority.
