The BC SPCA is investigating to see if animal cruelty charges are warranted after it received surveillance video of a man kicking a Doberman multiple times in a downtown Vancouver elevator.
Spokesperson Marcie Moriarty says the surveillance footage was obtained Tuesday.
“As a result of our investigation yesterday, the dog was removed from the owner. We obtained a warrant. The investigation is still open, we will be putting the case before crown counsel.”
The dog is no longer with its owner.
Moriarty says the SPCA investigates 8,000 complaints of animal cruelty every year.
