Kevin Glenn picked a good time to have his best game as a B.C. Lion.
His 407 yard passing performance during Friday nights 36-29 win over Hamilton not only earned his the praise of his coaches, but it also earning him the praise of the CFL as he was named the leagues offensive player of the week.
His best game also came with #1 man Travis Lulay looking over his shoulder while in full uniform on the B.C. sidelines. It never gets old how something like that can sometimes motivate an athlete who knows his days as a starter are clearly nearing an end.
Glenn has gotten the job done for the Lions though, guiding them to a 4-3 record in Lulays absence, and keeping them in the playoff hunt in the very tough Western Conference. That’s about all the Lions could have asked him for.
Lulay may very well get the ball when the Lions take on the Argos in Toronto this Sunday, but Glenn has at least stepped up and given the coaching staff something to think about.
If Travis is not 100% healthy, why risk his shoulder against the lowly Argos ? Just park Lulay on the sidelines in full uniform, and in full view of Kevin Glenn, and wait for the magic to begin.
Glenn hasn’t been great for the Lions this year, but he has held them in there and has maybe earned another start.
Rewarding him with that start could do wonders inside that B.C. Lion locker room.
