Authorities in California have provided more details about Robin Williams’ death.
Lieutenant Keith Boyd with Marin County Sherriff’s Office says the investigation won’t be completed for weeks, but confirms the actor died of suicide by asphyxiation with a belt in his own home.
“Mr. Williams’ personal assistant became concerned at approximately 11:45 am when he failed to respond to knocks on his bedroom door. At that time, the personal assistant was able to gain access to Mr. Williams’ bedroom.”
There, Boyd says, he found William’s body.
He says there were recent superficial wounds on William’s wrists and a knife was found near him but that didn’t contribute to his death.
