Runaway bus in Mission

Vancouver, BC, Canada / (CKNW AM) AM980

It’s not something you see every day.

A Mission woman watched a bus that had lost power, come flying down a hill, drive across her neighbour’s yard and hit his car in the driveway.

Shannon is relieved no one was injured in the accident and says the bus driver was trying to pull over but instead it went backwards.

“She tried to hit the brakes and she was trying to pull over but she couldn’t and the bus started going backwards. She did the best that she could I guess and just thankful there was no body walking on the street on the time because she didn’t have that much control she just did the best she could.”

Mission RCMP say there were 10 people on board at the time.

  1. Where is snookums?
She should be on site to show solidarity and support for the victims.

There should be monitors on all buses so that these tragedies don’t happen.
We demand a full and open inquiry into this matter with representation from all victims an potential victims to bring forth likely imapact statements.

We need to bring closure to this for those most affected.
