Police investigate early morning stabbing at the Metrotown bus loop

Vancouver, BC, Canada / (CKNW AM) AM980

“What’s most important is that there is no reason to believe that any members of the public are at any risk at this time.”

Inspector Davis Wendell, the RCMP’s Regional Duty officer for Lower Mainland, says police were called to Metrotwon shortly after 1am, where they found the victim being loaded into an ambulance.

Police have identified a suspect, and Wendell says they believe the attack was targeted, though not gang-related.

He says it appears the two knew each other.

“The person of interest in this case is not currently in custody, but our investigators are pursuing leads.”

The victim’s injuries are believed to be non life-threatening.

  1. Transit Police don’t deal with these things? Perhaps Translink should just use Transit Security and call RCMP for serious stuff. RCMP doesnt cost Translink anything and Transit Security can be used to enforce Translink bylaws, such as fares etc…

    • I agree with you, why do we need the transit police anyway? Considering they earn more than regular cops. Do the transit police do investigations or just catch offenders? If it is the later, let the security people handle it.
