Scary situation on Oak St

A very scary situation for people on Oak Street this afternoon.

What started as a robbery of a pharmacy on 42nd ended with police pulling their weapons and taking a shot at the suspects at 67th about ten minutes later.

Constable Brian Montague says three suspects took off from the pharmacy in a stolen vehicle, jumped into anotherat 43rd and headed south on Oak where two officers were in their car

“They saw that vehicle stuck in traffic on Oak Street near 67th and made a decision to challenge the three inside.”

Montague says that’s when a 12 year veteran of Vanouver police shot his weapon.

The suspects manage to get away.

Well if the SCOC hadn’t gutted the latest Tough on Crime laws passed by the democratically elected government, when these punks get caught they would have got an immediate sentence for the use of a weapon in a robbery….now the presiding judge will get the opportunity to emote with the troubled criminals and show them unwarranted sympathy
