Mayors appointed to Translink board of directors

Translink’s board of directors has two mayors as new members.

North Vancouver district Mayor Richard Walton and New Westminster Mayor Wayne Wright will represent the mayors’ council on regional transportation on the board.

This follows laws passed by the province earlier this year that give mayors more power over Translink.

The mayors’ council is set to meet in September at the Union of BC Municipalities conference in Whistler.

  1. What a waste of time. A simple case of ‘divide and Conquer! The entire Translink organization needs to be revamped, preferably abolished and a new one developed that at least has some common sense.
