10 year ban after dog abused

The Port Hardy-area owner of a two year old shepherd-cross dog found near death last November has been banned from owning animals for 10 years.

Rupert Wilson was also put on probation for a year, and must perform 100 hours of community service.

RCMP were called in after a passerby noticed a dog lying on a front porch, barely moving, in freezing cold temperatures.

“Molly” received months of life-saving medical treatment in the care of the SPCA and was adopted in April.
