The incoming wave of hot weather is ushering in another round of concern of wildfires throughout the province.
Kevin Shrepnek of the B.C. Wildfire Management Branch says higher temperatures are bringing increased concerns that more wildfires will be sparked.
Rainfall this past week helped to mitigate some of the wildfires throughout the province, but Shrepnek says the hot weather means more concerns.
“I would characterize the current weather system as being a temporary respite in terms of the rain we saw across the province.”
About 2,500 firefighters and support staff are currently fighting 95 active blazes provincewide.
