The Deer Hunter is moving to Toronto.
The Maple Leafs signed David Booth to a one year deal worth $1.1 mill today, which is actually a decent deal for the flakey-floater who still chips in with the odd goal every once in a while.
Booth is doing okay too, as the Canucks still owe him buyout money for the next 2 years.
Booth usually had a decent first and last 10 games with the Canucks. He generally showed interest right after training camp and even more interest as the off-season approached. It was the 62 games in between that were the problem for the injury plagued winger.
If the Leafs can get a few early or late goals from him though, they will get decent value for their $1.1 million investment.
So another Mike Gillis’ bust finds a new gig. Booth cost the Canucks a load of cap room for 3 years. The Leafs get him on the cheap.
Not sure how many bears he can sneak up on in Toronto though.
