The suspect in a Surrey shooting on Monday is on the loose.
Surrey RCMP Staff Sergeant Murray Hedderson says they don’t believe there is any risk to the public because it wasn’t random, in fact, it appears to have been accidental.
“RCMP received a call from a female who resides in the area of 187 Street and 60A Avenue in Surrey advising that a male had accidentally shot his friend in the leg.”
He says the male suspect fled before police got to the scene.
The victim has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
RCMP say the victim is giving few details about what happened.
They say the suspect was last seen leaving the area speeding away on a motorcycle without a helmet on.
He is described as a Caucasian male, in his early 30′s, slender build, with light coloured hair, wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt.
RCMP are asking anyone who sees the suspect to contact them.
