Fundraiser underway for Surrey woman who lost legs in bus stop crash

Vancouver, BC, Canada / (CKNW AM) AM980

Co-workers of a woman who lost both her legs when a truck crashed into her while waiting for a bus in Surrey last month are getting the community and their dogs together.

When employees at Uptown Dawg learned their co-worker, Kaureen Lamy , was fighting for her life in hospital …a fundraiser immediately came to mind.

“The goal is to raise several thousand dollars for Kaureen and her family to help out with some of the things they shouldn’t have to think about right now; the extra expenses.”

Uptown Dawg Manager Shannon O’Reilly says the event is $25.

It includes a doggy bath and meal, a barbeque for the pet owners, and even a doggy dunk tank station.

It takes place at Uptown Dawg in Port Moody until 4 pm.
