Pitt Meadows pensioner hopes to get stolen mobility scooter back

Vancouver, BC, Canada / (CKNW AM) AM980

Saying he feels like he’s been sentenced to life in a locked cell, an elderly Pitt Meadows man is hoping his stolen mobility scooter will be returned to him.

Alistair Barnett says the equipment was taken late Friday night or early Saturday morning.

“It disappeared overnight from my car port. The scooter’s candy apple red, heavy duty because I’m a big man. Replacement cost is about five thousand dollars and I certainly can’t afford that on my government pension.”

The 70-year old, who has problems with his lower spine, says he would often take his dog Angus for walks while riding the scooter.

Barnett is asking anyone who finds it to contact Ridge Meadows RCMP.
