For the third time in just under three weeks, North Shore rescue has once again had one of their caches broken into and vandalized.
These storage units are where thousands of dollars in emergency supplies are stored to help North Shore with their rescue efforts.
“We’re pissed off,” said an exasperated search manager Doug Pope. “It’s coming in at the busiest time of year for us. We’re having to scrape together both actual team resources to get this gear back together and scrape together the money at the busiest time of year for us.”
With the first two thefts costing upwards of $20 thousand dollars, Pope isn’t ruling out the possibility all three are connected to the same group of thieves.
“It does seem very similar in the sense that all three caches in this short timeline have been busted into in a similar way with similar gear stolen.”
North Shore RCMP remain in charge of the investigation.
