Staff at Surrey Animal Resource Centre say man walked in with an axe

Vancouver, BC, Canada / (CKNW AM) AM980

Violence broke out at the Surrey Animal Resource Centre late last week when a man with an axe entered the premises.

Early Friday evening, Kim Marosevich, manager of animal care and control for Surrey, says an owner of one of the dogs at the Surrey Animal Resource Centre came in to the shelter with a weapon apparently wanting his dog back.

“I mean with a hatchet and an axe show up and threaten a bunch of animal lovers who are just trying to do the best for the animal in our care.”

Marosevich says after police arrested the man they also found an axe and other weapons stashed outside the building.

She says the man has since been released but she plans to pursue this incident further without hesitation.

  1. Well it’s good to read tthatKim is going to pursue this incident further without hesitation……however the guy with the axe will do the same thing , because being released by the cops didn’t teach him a damn thing. He will still use threats of violence to get his way and will likely use violence next time because now he is annoyed . A few weeks in the can would very likely given him the necessary attitude adjustment…..but we couldn’t do that could we ? No it’s better to wait till he did something permanent to someone.

It looks like he’s an animal love too to go to those lengths to get (his) animal back.
