Lions Earn 1st Win

Vancouver, BC, Canada / (CKNW AM) AM980

The BC Lions earned their 1st win of the young season tonight taking out the Riders in Saskatchewan 26-13.

BC Led 11-0 after the 1st quarter and took a 14-13 lead into the half, and led by six with 5 minutes left before Kevin Glenn hit Courtney Taylor with a TD pass to salt it away.

BC scored 12 points in the 2nd half while holding the Riders off the scoreboard.

The Lions got a huge game from running back Andrew Harris. He ran for 138 yards and a touchdown, and caught 5 passes for another 65 yards. That’s player of the week stuff and he should get big consideration for that honor.

Glenn had a bounce back game going 16-27 for 170 yards with 1 TD and no picks.

The Lions improve to 1-2 with the win, while dropping the Riders to the same 1-2 mark.

BC’s next game is next Saturday night when Montreal invades BC Place Stadium.
