Basketball superstar LeBron James is going to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
James spent the first seven years of his NBA career with the Cavs, before ‘The Decision’ to take his talents to South Beach and the Miami Heat back in 2010 was met with contempt and ridicule not only from the NBA, but from sports fans throughout the world.
James spent four seasons with the Heat, making it to the NBA Finals all four year and sandwiching two championship titles in 2012 and 2013 around two losses, to Dallas in 2011 and San Antonio one month ago.
King James as he has been called returns to the Cavaliers who floundered without him. In the seven years with Lebron, the Cavaliers were the 6th best team by record in the NBA. Without him for four seasons, the Cavs were dead last.
James identified through an exclusive interview with Sports Illustrated that the pull to return home with his wife Savannah, who is also from Ohio, was a huge consideration.
Now that this transaction is official, let the NBA Free Agent Frenzy truly begin, and let the trades begin too.
Now Cleveland has their sights set on Minnesota centre Kevin Love, who they may acquire through trade with #1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins going the other way.
The 25 year old Love was 4th in league scoring for the Wolves, with 26.1 points per game, right behind James at 27.1.
