The father of a Maple Ridge boy whose lemonade stand helped raise money for a friend’s medical operation says the youngster will carry the lesson with him for life.
Last week, seven-year-old Quinn Callander raised nearly three times more than the $20,000 he hoped for to help his buddy, Brayden Grozdanich, also seven, get the surgery he needs in the United States.
His dad, Freddy Callender, says his son has learned about success.
“He’s done everything that’s been required of him in this whole endeavour to make it the success that it is. I am so proud of him. I can’t – I can’t express enough the pride I have in how my son has managed everything throughout this whole process.”
He says if Quinn ever thinks he doesn’t have the power to change the world, he can think back to the amazing thing he started when he was seven.
