The fight continues today to get a wildfire in the Peace River region under control.

Jillian Kelsh with the Fire Center, says two more crews arrived at the scene 60 kilometers southeast of Tumbler Ridge over night.

Along with the fire fighters are experts working on saving buildings at two oil and gas company crew camps.

“We have a structural production unit and specialist up near the fire they were determining last night if it was even safe to get structural protection unit in to the camp site.”

200 workers were evacuated from the camp sites yesterday.

The district says the blaze was expected to grow to 4-thousand hectares by the end of today up from 17-hundred hectares yesterday.

More details are expected at noon today.

  1. Update, I bet it will be a Camper or the NDP’s fault, just saying! Maybe a cigarette butt coming in off the high winds from 61km away or could it be terrorist at it again? The Liberal supporter will come up with some wacko response!
