Mayor says "personal matter" now behind him

Vancouver’s Mayor says he’s not worried about the outcome of November’s election, but Gregor Robertson is still accusing his political opponents of spreading false rumours about what ended his 30-year marriage.

“Well, I’m not going to let those kind of rumours circulate. Frankly, it’s not fair to my family, to my kids and my wife, uh, I’m going to fight back and I think it was important that the public understand the kind of “B-S” that’s being circulated, as a political campaign, when there’s no ideas, no candidates coming from the NPA, this is their campaign and that’s not fair.”

Over the weekend, Robertson issued a statement confirming he and his wife Amy are no longer living together and attacking members of the NPA for suggesting infidelity.

He says he’s not seeking any legal action because this is a ‘personal matter’ and he’s put it behind him.
