Abbotsford high school Principal suspended for misconduct

The Principal of St. Jean Brebeuf Regional Secondary in Abbotsford has been suspended for a month.

A disciplinary decision by the Teachers Regulation Branch determined John Edward Brennan should have taken action when he learned a teacher received a sexually explicit text from a student in 2009.

Martin Gerard Philip Careen was a friend of Brennan’s who was convicted of sexual exploitation in July 2011 in relation to that text message from a girl.

Brennan has agreed his actions amounted to misconduct.

He began serving his one month suspension  Tuesday (July 1st).
