This Canada Day has special significance for hundreds of people across the country who are becoming citizens today.
Sixty of the newest Canadians took their oath at Canada Place.
One of them is Adiel, who came from Israel seven years ago with her husband Ron and their two children, looking for a peaceful life.
She says today is a very special day for their family that has been a long time coming.
“I feel very connected to Canada and all the beautiful people that live here.”
Adiel says she was terrified to take the citizenship exam, but says it was great to learn about the entire country, not just the area they live in. The sixty people sworn in at Canada Place represent thirty-six different places of origin.
