Vision Vancouver’s new candidates for Park Board and School Board are being chosen today by members.

Nine hopefuls are in the running for four available spots for Park Board, while two are fighting for one remaining spot as a candidate for the School Board.

The new candidates join Park Board incumbent Trevor Loke, and all six of the incumbent Vision School Trustees in running in November’s election.

In a statement, Vision spokesperson Stepan Vdovine says more than 800 members have already voted during an advance nomination vote.

Members can get a vote in until 6 this evening, with results announced after 8.

  1. It doesn’t really matter who gets nominated. Vancouver voters will give them another term. With the Greens bowing out, NPA unable to offer any quality candidates and no one challenging the Mayor, it looks like more bike lanes and more traffic congestion and free reign for developers for the foreseeable future.
