Thousands of runners are taking part this morning in the Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon and 5k run.

The run raises money for 78 local causes through the Scotiabank Charity Challenge.

This year’s featured charities are Cassie & Friends, The Kettle Society and Spinal Cord Injury BC.

The run – now in its 16th year – starts at UBC, going along the shores of the Burrard Inlet to the finish line in Stanley Park.
