Nigeria 1 – (Odemwinge) – Bosnia – Herzegovina 0
Both teams came into the match hoping to keep their chances of reaching the last 16 alive after the earlier day’s result meant that Argentina had already gone through to the round of 16. It was Nigeria who would press early and ultimately would be rewarded in the 29th minute, when Peter Odemwinge’s effort hit the back of the net to give Nigeria a 1-0 lead. From then on the match opened up with the Bosnians forced to attack and would ultimately come close late in the 2nd half as Edin Dzeko’s shot was turned away by Nigerian keeper Victor Enyeama and onto the post. That’s as close as the Dragons would come as they would ultimately crash out of the tournament with this result. Nigeria now take second spot in the group but face group leaders Argentina in the final match, while Bosnia-Herzegovina look to salvage some pride against Iran in their final match of their maiden world cup voyage.
