The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has a new case in Surrey — its third in the city this week.
Sgt. Bari Emam says this time, investigators found man’s body at a home in the 2400 block of 156 street.
Emam says this was not a random attack, but won’t say how the victim died.
“At the onset of this investigation, it does appear to be focused on the victim, so there is no fear for public safety at this point.”
After three murders in one week, Emam says it’s fair for people to be concerned, but there are no signs that anyone but the victims were at risk.
Police have not reported any suspects.
Earlier this week, 33-year-old Shaunce Poirier died after he was found critically injured in front of an apartment building in the 13200 block of 108 Avenue.
Yesterday, police say 22-year-old Mandeepak “Deepak” Chahal died after he was wounded in a fight in the 13100 block of 65B Avenue.
He was not known to police, and investigators add the death was not drug- or gang-related.
