Delta Police say it’s an unfortunate reminder to parents heading into the summer months to keep a close eye on their children near swimming pools.
Police say a 5 year old girl was under water for at least a minute after falling into a private swimming pool in Tsawwassen around 330pm.
She was rescued by family members and flown by air ambulance to hospital as a pre caution.
“Swimming pools, any bodies of water, it’s another reminder to parents, really it’s just two to three seconds for a child to fall to a point where they can’t help themselves.”
The girl is expected to be OK.
