Miracle Weekend brings in more than $18 million for BC Children's Hospital

A two-day celebration which raises money for sick kids in BC brought in over $18 million this past weekend.

Steven Forgacs with BC Children’s Hospital says Miracle Weekend helps the hospital buy new equipment and support research.

“Last year we bought a piece of equipment that allows them to diagnose blood infections in minutes rather than days and of course a blood infection can quickly be fatal, so having that turn around is truly life saving.”

He says more than 78,000 children visit the hospital annually, 67% of whom live outside the City of Vancouver.

  1. What? No one posted acomment on the amazing fund raiser sponsored by Global? Expect to hear in the near future that the Liberals will increase funding to Childrens’ Hospital by $!8 million.

They will take credit for anything.
