The National Energy Board has granted an extension to Kinder Morgan to respond to 10-thousand information requests related to its Trans Mountain pipeline expansion proposal.
The extension provides an additional two weeks for the proponent to respond to questions submitted by 122 interveners.
Kinder Morgan says the questions cover subjects including marine operations, environment, engineering, finance and emergency and spill response- which can be very detailed.
In a letter to the company the NEB says it’s balancing the need for participants to have more time with the requirement the hearing proceed in a fair and efficient manner.
The new date is set for June 18th.
Interveners were also given an extra week, until July 4th, to review Kinder Morgan’s response before filing any motions.
