Sony Pictures Imageworks, the Academy Award winning visual effects and digital character animation company, is relocating its headquarters to Vancouver.

The company is moving into a new, state-of-the-art facility at Pacific Centre at Granville and Georgia, capable of accommodating up to 700 employees.

The company first came to Vancouver in 2010 when it opened a production office with a staff of 80 artists.

They just completed work on the movie Edge of Tomorrow for Warner Bros. and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for Columbia Pictures.

  1. Very good indeed.
I hope we can grab as much of this industry back as possible from Toronto while the media (and Burnaby RCMP) are crucifying Ford.
Toronto mad a big dent in Vancouver’s industry.
