More concerns raised about health clinic closures in Vancouver

It’s an uncertain time for patients of some Vancouver Coastal Health clinics slated for closure later this year.

Pacific Spirit Clinic patient Alan Tapper says once the changes take place, he will no longer be able to see the doctor who has been treating his diabetes for years.

“Nobody knows what is really going on. There has been no communication whatsoever with the patients.”

But Director for Coastal Health Dr. David Hall says they will be reaching out to affected patients mid-summer in a variety of ways to ensure continuity of care.

“No changes will be made to anybody’s care until we have communicated with them directly.”

The clinic changes are due to take effect in October.
