Police on Vancouver Island are asking the public for help as they investigate the death of an infant over the weekend.
Vancouver Island Police calling on witnesses to come forward
Detectives with the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit and Victoria Police Department want witnesses – specifically anyone who was on the double decker bus on Route 14 from the 800 block of Craigflower Road to the downtown stop at View and Douglas streets between 7:30 and 8 Saturday morning.
That’s the route police say the 21-year old man who has been arrested in connection with the death traveled with the infant from a residence in Esquimalt.
Police say if you were on that route you need to come forward – even if you don’t think you saw anything, or have anything to share.
The suspect was arrested after police were called in to help BC Ambulance with an infant in distress at a restaurant in the 12 hundred block of Douglas Street.
He has been charged with manslaughter and remains in custody.
