The Thai Association of BC says you should avoid travelling to Thailand at the moment.
President Miss Wilaiporn Laoha says the Royal Thai Army has declared Martial Law, and a curfew is in place for everyone from 10pm to 5am.
She says it’s not safe, so don’t go.
“I would make that recommendation, particularly because it’s only just started today. Right now, basically this coup leader has taken control of everything, so we are hoping there will be a proper appointment of the Prime Minister; we are also hoping an election will then take place.”
The Federal Government is encouraging Canadians to check in with the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok and exercise a high degree of caution if you do decide to travel to the Southeast Asian country.
