Saturday will be the busiest day for cruise passenger volumes for the entire year.
14 thousand five hundred people will be boarding and leaving their cruise ships in Vancouver.
Usually there are one to three ships docked at the port but for the busiest day of the year – there’s four.
John Parker-Jervis from Port Metro Vancouver says – it’s great business.
“Every cruise call brings it roughly 2 million dollars in economic activity benefitting local businesses. And with our numbers we’re looking at this year of 243 calls that would add an estimated 486 million dollars to our local economy.”
Expect increased traffic volume in the downtown core as well.
