The final necropsy results are in for Hani the Siberian Tiger who was found dead at the Greater Vancouver Zoo a couple weeks ago.
“Basically the final results indicated she died of a significant left-sided heart failure.”
Zoo General Manager Jody Henderson says there was nothing her staff could have done to prevent Hani’s death.
“It’s completely out of our hands. I asked the pathologist and the vet both independent questions and they both answered the same: there is nothing we could have done.”
Henderson says she hopes the results clear up any questions about how the zoo cares for the animals. She adds staff who worked with Hani are still struggling with their grief.
