An investigation is underway after a train struck a car in Langley Thursday afternoon.
Police say witnesses report seeing the car drive through the stop sign and onto the tracks before being struck by the northbound train.
Corporal Holly Marks says the female driver was the only person in the vehicle at the time.
She was airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Marks says there’s still no clear answer why the woman went onto the tracks.
“Hopefully we will get something from the witnesses who may have seen something, whether there was a medical event, or… who can say. We would all be guessing at this point.”
The woman’s identity has not been released.
