Surrey cops impound speeding Ferrari

Vancouver, BC, Canada / (CKNW AM) AM980

He told Mounties he was just testing it.

RCMP say a man in a 2005 Ferrari F-4-30 was pulled over last weekend along 176th Street in Surrey.

He was going 180 kilometres an hour — in an 80-kilometre-an-hour zone.

Corporal Robert Macdonald says, “The driver basically just told the member that he had just recently purchased the vehicle and he was testing it. Wrong place to test it.”

Macdonald says a teenager was also in the car.

The man got a $483 fine and the Ferrari was impounded for a week.

It happened at 32nd Avenue, where a family of five was killed last year after a van slammed into their car.
